If you check style.com, you'll find a little article talk about this new interesting blog, The Unknown Hipster. A fun project of Jean-Philippe Delhomme, a french artist and author, who state himself in this blog as "Born French, Unknown Hipster early moved to New York to become a painter, a poet, or whichever position was available on the Art scene. Once a lead tambourin for « Uneven dusk », it’s unclear what became his main occupation after the band quickly broke-up." He transform himself into a bushy beard red head guy who love to wear plaid. It's a fun blog to read and see. The illustration is ....do we have to talk about that?, he's an artist!
so, say no more. just CHECK

Dream Away Bride

Photobucket

Photobucket

Another day of my job. We started at 6 am. (the models got their makeup done at 5, tough! ) The first shot was with the first sun light. Our models were fantastic, lively and beautiful. The wedding dresses was blown my mind away. It's truly beautiful and can not be dressed by one's own. When you got in, the feeling is just so different (I was the extra in the shot, haha). It's like you grow into someone else. The guesses in the hotel was so exciting and congratulating our brides on their big day. Some were asking for the groom but there's no groom, only 4 assistant stylists running around holding gown train, bouquets, shoes, veils, flowers, jewelries and anything you can think of. At the end of the day we know it's another impressive shoot. We all felt like 5 pm is actually 8 pm (the watch must be wrong!). After all it was a fun day.

for those in Thailand, this Harper's Bazaar wedding issue will be out this Friday!!
I'm exciting to see it too.

Teardrop Sweetheart

Misha, a New York based band that released a very lovely album,Teardrop Sweetheart, a couple of years ago. The soul of the band is a lovely couple named Ashley Yao and John Chao. The two grew up together in Taiwan, bumped into each other 15 years later in NYC, began dating and finally began making sweet music together.

"We hope you like some of it, if not all of it. And if you don't like any of it, well, hopefully you don't hate it. And if you hate it, well, there's no pleasing everyone. And if everyone hates it, well, at least we all still have dayjobs for now."
(Yao is a professional model and Chao is a consultant)

Polaroid

Photobucket

This post is dedicated to a Polaroid thanksgiving.

In the very first place I want to thank Mr. Edwin Land for all his breaking inventions and for never stop believing in his work and constantly improving the features of his cameras and films.

Presenting the first Polaroid picture to the public in 1947 and launching the first Polaroid camera (model 95) in 1948, Polaroid brought us an almost countless number of amazing Polaroid tools.

Among these optical masterpieces one is maybe outstanding: The original SX-70 was presented in 1972 and was a breathtaking success, zooming Edward Land on the cover of many magazines all over the world.

For us it is not only the magic and the power of these cameras, that make Polaroid such an highly addictive brand, but the whole package you get when buying a Polaroid tool. The design of the box and manuals, the way every features is carefully integrated: Every little detail shows the love and the positive thinking behind these products...

I stole these pictures from our little sister's Facebook. I find Her photography works (except the 2nd picture, a picture of herself, is took by her real sister, Pad's Holiday) is pretty good. They're all captured moments of their time together and reflected the natural of their relationship. Isn't that what a good photos should be ? to tell a story.
I feel like we, the Shimu's girls, have a lot of post that consist of our families (or even somebody else families). Maybe it's the Thai culture of being so close to one's family but again, I don't really know.

The fanrastic Metiers d'Art collection, Chanel Paris-Moscou. Karl not only give us the genius in design but also in the craftsmanship.
and here's some numeral fact..
70 pairs of shoes were made by the Massaro workshop. Over 2000 hours of work went into making all these shoes.
2 of the looks is using over 600 hours of work went into applying the passementeries, silver thread, beads, silver motif and Swarovski beads.
Between 10,000 and 12,000 hours of work were used in making the jewelry, buttons, jewelled bag, heels, gloves...

fantastic I may say.

Everybody Must Get Stoned

Today I was lucky enough to meet Morgan of "Zoe & Morgan", a cool jewelry line. What so cool about their jewelry ? Morgan and Zoe both fall for vintage and antique jewelry but their intention is not just to remake. Instead, they give it a twist. Morgan said he and his sister find inspiration from everything from a song name to a cracked of the building. Morgan said he like things to be made by hand. He like the way that it's imperfect and contain soul and he would love the most when his client buy it and intend to pass on his jewelry to their offspring. I like the way that he really capture the meaning of jewelry. From the ancient, jewelry always contain more meaning than just adornment.

My favorite one was the last picture, a Poison Ring. It's already funky enough that the gem stone is being setting in vertical, but Morgan and Zoe put it farther, it can be open to put whatever you want inside, like in the old time.

Zoe & Morgan have their collection sold everywhere around the world. You can find them online too. For those in Thailand, they available at Matina Amanita shop at Gaysorn Plaza

btw, the title is Morgan's idea. I've asked him if he ever consider Dylan's song as they collection inspiration and he said if there's one, it have to be "Everybody Must Get Stoned"!

love you all,

The title of this post is actually what the director, Roland Emmerich, said to his interior designer about designing his house. This house, locate in London, is design by John Teall who being instructed to make it so that "when the neighbors peek in, they might want to call the police or something." As you can see have many interesting rooms and corner. Like the chalkboard office, the English bedroom, birdcage in the shape of the White House and a statue of Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Pope under the stairs case. I strongly suggest that you ought to read for the full article here

This is the sarcasm that one could live in.
