Shimu's Showcase no.5: Central Saint Martins Menswear 2012

Are you one of the people who never thought about study Menswear ? Now you might change your mind after seeing this. Our good friend, Pun (a.k.a. Pyonce), give us the reason why music make them lose control. He said because of the hard work at the end of the semester so they decided (like our motto, work hard play harder) to have a fun project. No wasting time, the whole class (include the professor) get up to do the dance and make this video clip. Now many ppl really interest in Menswear class and the video get into dazeddigital.com. How cool is that ?

I recommended you watch til the end because the credit part is incredibly good.

This time Pimm, a.k.a 1st teaspoon, act like a white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland leading us into Vivetta world, an adorable Italian clothes brand. So we all appear in the their AW09-10 collection plus an adorable hat. She also recommended a soundtrack to play along with this post from Little Joy. ahh.. the joy is more than little when you be in that outfit and falling in to vivid diamond shape illusion.

Ladies and Gentlemen, here's come the second "Interview". This time, Nat Prakobsantisuk, Thai leading photographer answer our 7 little questions in his own handwriting plus kindly provided us his work to show here, in our humble little blog.

Nat Prakobsantisuk is a former stylist who turn himself into photography. He's a photographer that every kid who study photo look up to. His work can be found in top magazine across Asia such as Harper's Bazaar (Thailand & China), Elle (Thailand, China, HK) and Marie Claire (Thailand, HK, Singapore, Malaysia).

My little humble shop

Hi, We are Half a Dozen. We are a group of Thai Industrial Design student who really love and obsess in fashion. We designed to open our own shop at suan-lum night bazaar last month. Here is our first collection for tie-dye shirts. We made it with our love in fashion design and crafts. With our 99% handmade (1% goes to the plain shirt that we didn't made it ourselve), make sure there's only one each. We confess that we were super excited every time we cut off the tie to see how these shirt gonna be. It's such a fun experiment that we have developed our own technique in our own way.

Why I named this post "Spoonful of Shimu"? That's because from now on Pimm Chongcharoen will send us her illustration regularly and have her own column in here! (and another reason is Parut ain't one of Shimu's girls, so it's a bit full, don't you think ?) We all love her drawing and this time she celebrated our start with drawing us all in watercolor!! You can't imagine how excited we are when received the first post!

We knows each other for almost a year and it just came to us that we never properly introduce ourselves. We have been received a lot of question about who we are, what we do, where we shop and what camera we use. We going to start with the first question... Who are we ?

Niki's Holiday

Niki've been working in fashion industry. By day, Niki was Chloé Boutique Manager, PR, Buyer to photocopy girl and by night Niki is Shimu's Holiday professional photographer. Aside from both jobs, she's a Party Superstar, you can meet her at Bangkok party scenes. Now she continue her study for Master Degree at Central St.Martins College of Art & Design in London.

Pan's Holiday

Pan graduated from Decorative Art in jewelry design. However, she end up working as asistant stylist for Harper's Bazaar Thailand by day and Shimu's Holiday moderator by night. Pan can be found at high fashion boutiques loading with luxury shopping bags for shootings. Pan is obsessed with blogging. Be careful! every move you do, Pan knows !

Pad, our adorable little sister. She is talented in every ways, from dancing, sewing, styling, entertaining to modeling. Now Pad is studying Industrial Design by day and be our life saver by night, her interesting post always come in the time we have writer's block. What camera do you use ? We use around 15 cameras but our favorite is Contax T2 (same as Jurgen Taylor and Terry Richardson), Ricoh GR2, Agfa Holiday, Polaroid and Canon G10.

Where do you shop ? vintage store, TOPSHOP, Zara, luxury sample sale and stock sale.

What band that you three most love ? Broken Social Scene, Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground, Deerhunter, Animal Collective and Belle and Sebastian.

Who is "Shimu" ? Shimu is a nickname of a fat Pug (his real name is Shimushimu) who bark at that car, drop that bone, sleep on the floor, dream about meat. (This phrase can be sing along with Broken Social Scene's song, Anthem of Seventeen Years Old girl.)
