Shimu in Collab with miss V present...

our homemade Stop Motion VDO for the party, CoCoNut Cut & Paste..

We spent about 5-6 hours (include editing) to finish it and it's only 20 seconds!!! haha, but it so fun and easy both in the making and editing.

what you will need:
- story
- cast/set/props according to your story.
- tripod
- digital camera
- lamp
- window movie maker or imovie for mac.

Taking the scene on the tripod > transfer into your computer > drag and drop in movie maker > put in some music > editing> then voila! you got it!

Henry Darger

I just discover a great artist and it's even more amazing when you read about his life. Henry Darger's work is unknown for all his life until it's being discover after his death.

There are 15,145-page, fantasy manuscript called "The Story of the Vivian Girls, in What is known as the Realms of the Unreal, of the Glandeco-Angelinnian War Storm, Caused by the Child Slave Rebellion" , a second work of fiction, Crazy House: Further Adventures in Chicago, contains over 10,000 handwritten pages. The text is accompanied by three bound volumes of several hundred illustrations !!

All of his work is on one concept "to protect the children against child slavery". His wrote of children's right is :
"to play, to be happy, and to dream, the right to normal sleep of the night's season, the right to an education, that we may have an equality of opportunity for developing all that are in us of mind and heart."

There's also a book dedicate to him at Kinokuniya. In my life if I can only own 1 piece of art, it would be his. You can't believe that his art is create between 1930s-1970s. It's look just like being create yesterday by the hippiest illustrator.

Building Shimu

My attemp to buiding Shimu's Holiday from scratch. More tocome if I have time :)) Suddenly I remember how much I love drawing with watercolor. Thank you Coconut to make me remember again.

Coconut Wish Boat Hat!

This time is Hat-trick!
Niki send me an idea of her paper accessories. Though we're 6 hours apart, we still can collab. So this is it our "Wish Boat Hat". I think I have to revise about the size and material to make it smaller and thinner. Oh! I also did some flower wristband.

Not sure is anyone will want to wear these hats. haha

It's a girl! crown

While waiting for miss "V" who is still making her blog and me to develop the film for our latest photo shoot. Let's me introduce another product for the Coconut party. It took me ages to make two but I make it faster and faster though I have to spend a lot of energy for each one.

So, who want this crown ?

Let's Party!!

Long time ago, we, Shimu's girls, use to be part of a party called "Coco Night" now. Now all the friends is back together again. We are older, wiser and funnier. So this time it's gonna be real fun...

we invite you to... "Coconut Party"

first, Register: You will walk into the party like you are. (of cause, you have to buy the ticket first, hehe)
second, Dress up!: You will be drawn in a load of paper props (we try to make it as much as possible) and you could dress what you like with us!!
third, Get Inspire: Our friends got some art work to share with you. It won't be boring, we're talking something very inspiring here.
fourth, Rooftop Concert: it's time to get drunk on the rooftop, listen to the music of
- The cool girls band, "Yellow Fang"
- The cool boys, "Basement Tape"
- The cool boys & cool girls, "Slow Reverse"

So, I really hope we could finally get to meet. I will posting more about "Coconut" and what Shimu gonna do at the party.
